Send Cheers with Points
Cheers isn't just a nice message anymore — you can now back it up with points that a teammate can turn into real rewards. Here's how it works.
Overview
Every Cheers is a chance to recognize a teammate's work in public. Now, when you send a Cheers, you can attach a point to it. Points you attach go straight into your teammate's Points Received Wallet, which they can redeem for rewards in the store — separate from the message itself.
To keep the system fair and prevent points from just piling up unused, everyone works with two separate balances:
Points to give Wallet: This is the budget you use to reward others. Each employee gets an amount of points, set by org admins, at the start of every cycle. Every time you attach a point to a Cheers, 1 point is deducted from this wallet. Unused points don't carry over — your Points to give Wallet resets at the scheduled time, so it's worth spending down before it resets.
Points received Wallet: This is where the points you're given land. Every point you receive stays in this wallet — it never resets or expires on its own. When your balance hits the redemption threshold set by your organization, it automatically syncs to the store so you can redeem it for rewards.
General rules
- 1 point per Cheers. You can't send more than 1 point per Cheers — no stacking.
- Points must be public. If you attach a point, your Cheers can't be sent anonymously or kept private. Recognition backed by points is meant to be seen.
- You can't send yourself a point. Self-Cheers aren't eligible for points.
- Group Cheers need enough points for everyone. If you're recognizing multiple people at once, you need enough points in your Points to give Wallet to cover every recipient. If you don't have enough points in your wallet, Send is blocked for the whole group — there's no partial sending.
- Points convert when they reach the store. Points received Wallet points don't redeem 1:1 for store credit — they convert at a rate your organization's admin sets. Your Points received Wallet balance and your store balance are tracked separately for this reason.
- Regular Cheers are unlimited. The point limit only applies to Cheers with a point attached. You can still send as many point-free Cheers as you like.
Happy flow: sending a Cheers with points
- Open the Cheers composer and write your recognition message.
- Check on “Include Cheer Points” checkbox
- Notice the Private option is now disabled. Point-based Cheers are always public.
- Hit Send. Your Giving Wallet balance drops by 1, and your teammate's Receiving Wallet balance goes up by 1.
You will see the Cheers in the public feed.
Redeeming points
You don't need to do anything extra to redeem — once your Points received Wallet balance crosses your organization's set threshold, it automatically syncs to the store and converts into store points. Check your Balance widget on your profile to see:
Points to give: how many points are left in your Points to give Wallet, and when it resets
Points received: your current store balance, kept in sync with your Points synced
